Let’s face it. The issue of back pain is often a topic of discussion nowadays and it is hardly surprising really, when one considers that the spine was never designed in such a way, so that we can sit slouched in a chair all day or bent over a desk while with work on the computer. As you may well know, not only can back pain be extremely painful, but it can also limit us in many ways.

What many people fail to realize is as our lives change due to the way in which we use up bodies, it becomes necessary to make changes regarding the way we look after our bodies. Fortunately, unless there has been damage caused through some type of trauma, back pain can for the most part be corrected naturally. Even if your back has been damaged in an accident, some simple exercise programs may still be able to help reduce pain.

Our backs are literally the backbone of our well-being and are incredibly important. Virtually synonymous with youth and vitality, the lower back supports much of our weight and is the key to maneuvering our bodies.

The lower back naturally curves inward, sustaining a huge amount of weight. Unfortunately, if the vertebrae in the lower back begin to slip out of alignment due to poor habits, stress and tension, pain will develop. Taking painkillers or having surgery is not the answer! When your back hurts, it is trying to tell you something important. Do not ignore the message by masking it with a quick fix with pills or overkill with surgery.

Confronting the root of the problem is the only logical answer; correct the posture. For many, the muscular endurance to hold their spine in proper alignment is too difficult to achieve on a daily basis. Others unknowingly tense up from stress, causing muscles to tire too easily.  Simply put, have better posture and you have better health.

The first step in alleviating your back pain is to find and practice a proper posture program to teach your body the natural, comfortable position in holding your posture for long periods of time then training your body to hold it this way so there is no repeated pain.  Natural back pain relief is the safest, most effective long-term way to reduce back pain and improve posture.

Strengthening exercises for example, will help to ensure your back muscles don’t become tired, while stretching exercises on the other hand will help to increase flexibility. Also, relaxation exercises can go a long way in helping to release muscles which have become tense. Ideally, one should have an overall body awareness program in place because with these exercises, one can be guaranteed of maintaining a good alignment.

One cannot really argue that awareness is essentially the key. By following some of the rules mentioned above, one can begin to enjoy good health and a nice strong back. Once you do, you’ll find that you gain a lot of confidence, not to mention the fact that you’ll be free from back pain. However it should be mentioned that you need to use the strengthening exercises, stretching exercises, and the relaxation exercises in conjunction with each other or else your bad habits will simply return. The bottom line is; in order to avoid back pain altogether, one has to change one’s routine in order to match the changing world we live in today.
